Hi peeps, I got the age of Magic Saga a little while ago. I've had a very small amount of games I like the system but also want to play more of it and I know there are some people at the club that do play.I also recently got the Viking supplement I've got the Miniatures just haven't got round to assembling and painting them yet like most things but I can use many of my fantasy stuff for the age of magic. So if anyone's free on one of the Sundays in June let me know and try and work out a small game to start back into it.
Cheers Dave

Good news! Always up for Saga, Age of Vikings or Age of Magic.
And (slowly) building a force for Age of Crusades.

What is actually needed?
Having never looked at saga as a gaming system I have no idea.
How many minis needed for a warband?
What books are needed?
Any special dice?

So many questions 🤣🤣

Not too much is needed. Everything costs like 1 point… from memory it’s something like:
Levy is 12 models they are your worst troop
Warriors 8
Elite 4
Warlord free

Heros are often 1/2 point to 1 point and Monsters are 1 and ogre size guys are 2 for 1

That will build the bulk of your army up. You want to be taking 8 points of “stuff”

Special dice are handy but you can get by without…

Hopefully helpful!

Thanks Dan 👍
I may start to do a bit more research on this.
I have been looking at the rule books.
The main rules are really cheap but it looks like you then need the specific rules for magic, vikings etc which are a little more pricey.

Dan pretty much covers it all.
My warbands are around 40-50 minis, plus a warlord. For Age of Magic you can have big monsters, lesser monsters, heroes and a wizard.

The nice thing about Age of Magic is you can theme the lists how you like, and up to you which fantasy army you want your warband to represent.

Some Age of Vikings players seem strangely obsessed with their own perception of historical detail from 1000 years ago.

You need the rules plus one army list book, and good to have one set of dice.
