A New Year's Resolution

By John Oman

It's up there with World Peace - I'm going to try, amongst other things, to complete 5 figures each week during 2005. I intend to select the figures to be painted at the beginning of the month and grind my way through them.

I'm going to be taking a snap of the figures I've set my sights on, and each month I will report back with the progress made, including an "after" picture, so there will be no cheating as the camera doesn't lie.

As I'm not intending to purchase any figures in the first half of 2005 (another resolution), it should afford me the opportunity of ending 2005 with less figures to paint than at the start. Now that would be novel!

Well it's January and I've picked 20 figures to test my metal. They are all from my Barbarian collection of multi-use Fantasy armies. They masquerade (from time to time) as Orcs, Beasts of Chaos, Lizardmen, Marauders, and anything else I want them to be. I'm fairly keen to complete them this year, they have only been on the stocks for about 6 years. A long slow journey indeed.

As you can see from the snap, apart from being stuck on bases, they are a motley crew ripe for development.

Hope you enjoy my Herculean labours.

Cheers for now,
John
